The Story of a Buffet Dressed in Blue

Apparently I do not have much concern about my digestive system considering I shoveled down my lunch in 2.3 minutes just so I could eat faster then the baby. Eating faster then the baby=getting to blog! I won the race so I get to introduce you to this beauty.

Actually, lets step back a few months. I had searched a million years (one month) for a sideboard for my house. Of course it had to be perfect. Of course it had to have just the right detail. And of course I already had the paint color picked out so it had to fit around that. It was well worth the wait! Once she was finished I proudly displayed her in my front room/work space. This happens to be the one place all of my customers come to. After many compliments and cash offers I decided to move her to another room in the house because I could not part with her and the cash offers were getting harder to refuse. Long story short, I was put on a mission to find a buffet for a client so I could refinish it in the same color as my buffet. This is the gem my client and I agreed on.

It was perfect. Just enough crevices and the PERFECT size. Once she got to my house we started on the process.

Here's her first coat. Guess what!!?? No sanding. No priming. No stripping. Why you ask? Because I used Madame Butterfly Chalk Paint. Waaaaaaa! I applied a light first coat. By the time I was done painting the last end the first end was already dry. The second coat was almost enough but I did a third coat just because I wasn't going to distress.

Glaze time! I am a big glaze advocate. It's easy and can be easily controlled. One day I may become a wax advocate but for now I am treading lightly in the wax world. I do have a pretty cool wax trick up my sleeve but that is another post.

Let me introduce to you the buffet dressed in blue. I love her and will miss her when she leaves.

Love this color? Good. It will be one of the colors in the Madame Butterfly Chalk Paint collection. All I need now is a name for the color. Any ideas?
