How to Clean Your Paint Brushes without Chemicals

My paint brushes are my world so I try to treat them nicely but that doesn't always happen. Dinner has to be cooked, diapers have to be changed and none of those wait for me to clean out my brushes.

Today I left white paint on the tip of one of my good brushes and let it dry. Oops! I had heard about cleaning your brushes with boiling vinegar so I decided to give it a try.

I had one brush with dried paint and one brush that was clean but had some paint residue on it. I poured enough white distilled vinegar into a pan and turned it on to boil.

After 20 minutes I took the pan off of the heat and let it cool. I started washing the brushes with soap and water and the dried paint came off quickly. Run your fingers through the bristles to get the paint moving and sliding right off.

I am impressed!! As long as you don't mind the strong smell of vinegar then this will work for you. I'll give you fair warning. Do not breath in the vinegar steam through your nose. Trust me!
